Roanoke airport's passenger traffic increases
September 10, 2010ROANOKE, VA. — Roanoke Regional Airport is seeing an increase in passenger traffic. The Roanoke Times reports that passenger loads through July totaled 354,327, up nearly 4 percent from the same seven-month period in 2009.

Report says bioscience jobs rising in Roanoke area
September 10, 2010ROANOKE, Va. - A new report says the biomedical and biotechnical sectors are booming the Roanoke area. Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission says employment in those sectors rose nearly 8.9 percent from 2006 to 2009. Total employment in the region dropped 5 percent over the same period.
