Woodson, West's first basketball coach, dies at age 81 (The Hendersonville Times-News)
March 11, 2010By DEAN HENSLEY Times-News Staff Writer Harry Ditmore Woodson, the first basketball coach at West Henderson High School, died Feb. 27 in Roanoke, Va. He was 81. Woodson was a boys and girls basketball coach and teacher at Etowah High School from 1955-1960, and when West opened its doors in 1960, Woodson followed.
